The organic products have been grown according to targeted farming methods, with no use of artificial fertilizers, chemicals and pesticides. The Organic Farming control has been executed not only over the final product, but over the methods of growing and harvesting, starting with the manufacture preparations till the final product marketing. Every product must possess a valid certificate in order to be considered organic. A certificate of this kind can be obtained after a 3 to 4-years period, the so called conversion period of organic farming methods application.
The eco products have been grown in ecologically pure regions and unlike the organic products, do not possess a Farming Certificate. Most of them are landraces that have not been grown intentionally.
Why do we pay a higher price for the organic products?
The organic manufacture is of a higher value. The organic detergents, fertilizers and agents that have been used in Organic Farming cost significantly more. The more manual labor executed, together with the specific techniques raise the product value. Last but not least, Organic Farming is lower in yield.
